Random Fact Wednesday (3)

I have only been completely underwater twice in my life. The first time someone pushed me under 'cause they thought it was fun. The second time was when I got baptized.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of going underwater. I have a pathological fear of drowning. Not sure why. I've had this fear my entire life. Wonder if this fear will ever go away.

Silence (a poem by Emily Sweigart)

If there were no silence
No one could listen
If there were no silence
No one could be heard
If there were no silence
We might never know
What a gift it is
To hear

God gave us silence
To help rest our minds
God gave us silence
So that we can hear Him
God gave us silence
So we can appreciate
The beauty of sound

Yes, I wrote this poem. :)
The other day I went to the Whitewater Center and took pictures. The weather was perfect!

Random Fact Wednesday (2)

Random fact about me:

I'm simply infatuated by nature. Nature is so captivating to me. It's hard to explain how much I enjoy being outside. There are no words to describe the feeling when I'm outside, just taking in all the gorgeous scenery and breathing in the fresh air. Nature has so many beauties and marvels, it's so amazing!
I love doing anything outside - picnics, sports, reading, photographing, hanging out with friends, walking, biking, watching the sky, etc. So, if I ever have a boyfriend, he won't have to spend much on going to movies or out to eat or things like that. He'd just have to plan something outside, and I'd be thrilled. :)

Edit: My most favorite things in nature are flowers, animals, and the sky. Actually, the sky is ranked slightly higher than the other two. I'm fascinated by everything about the sky. ^_^

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of this verse:

Don't know where I want it yet.
Anyone have any ideas? I'd love to hear your opinions! :)

random fact Wednesday

I decided I'm going to post one or two random facts about myself every Wednesday. Just for fun, and so my readers can get to know me a bit. :)
Here's today's random fact:

I truly, genuinely prefer listening more than talking. Unless the subject of conversation is something I'm passionate about, I'll spend my time listening to what others have to say. Some people think I'm shy because of this, but that's just their opinion. I'm not shy, I simply love to listen.

2013

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

Here are a few of my 2012 highlights:
  • adopting our cat Tiger Lily. She is such a fun addition to our family!
  • graduating from Southeastern Institute, and getting my massage therapist license. Also starting my job at Massage Therapy Studios with a wonderful Christian boss.
  • Anna and Andrew's wedding! =D
  • having lots of time to hang out with my friends and get to know them better. All my friends are so amazing, and I'm blessed beyond words by each of them.
My goal for 2013: Break some of my bad habits and replace them with good ones. By God's grace I can reach my goal.

In other news, I finally understand why I've never found it easy to talk to people. It's because God made me that way; I'm an introvert. And there's nothing wrong with that. Here's something I read, "According to estimates, extraverts outnumber introverts by about three to one. Introverts often find that other people try to change them or even suggest that there is something "wrong" with them. Nothing could be further from the truth. While introverts make up a smaller portion of the population, there is no right or wrong personality type."
I did some research on introversion, and it makes complete sense! Now I won't be tempted to feel like a failure whenever I try to engage in group conversation but end up walking away instead. I will keep trying, though. I just know now that it will never be easy for me, no matter how many times I've tried before. Thank you, Lord, for making this clear to me!

Any questions on what it means to be an introvert? I'd be happy to answer them. :)
